Doug Robinson is a general columnist, sports columnist and feature writer for the Deseret News, where he has worked since 1978. He began his career as a sports writer. "Everything I am today I blame on Lee Benson," he says. Robinson grew up in an Air Force family, living in Europe and various regions of the U.S. He attended Utah State on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in journalism. He has written lengthy profiles on many of Utah's most famous residents, including Hot Rod read more Hundley, Roma Downey, Kurt Bestor, Larry Miller, LaVell Edwards, Kyle Whittingham, Orrin Hatch, Jake Garn, Al Rounds, Jerry Sloan, SheDaisy, Ron Yengich, Rulon Gardener, Sheri Dew, President Gordon B. and Marjorie P. Hinckley. Robinson has won more than 100 local, regional and national writing awards. He is the author of "DRIVEN," the "autobiography" of Larry H. Miller. Robinson and his wife Lori have three children Preston, Collin, Carly and a black lab named Zoee. On the side, Robinson has coached high school athletic teams since 1990.
