Comic Con or Fan X has become the leading convention in the State. Its economic engine is creating large amounts of income for its many vendors here in Utah. It is not only making millions of dollars for hotels, restaurants and the many vendors who are from Utah that participate, but others from out of state that come to this people magnet. There are other gatherings like this one in California and other states, but we should be glad we have our own. This convention which is only 3 years old keeps on growing, We should continue to encourage the growth of this event, it can only get bigger. Congratulations to Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg.

I just had my first Comicon experience and it was fun. However, I think the FanX thing has just about outgrown the space. As with the September Comicon, it's time to open up that other exhibition space. The vendor space was too crowded and the lines for some things, even a couple of bathrooms, were a bit long. I know that FanX isn't as big as the September Comicon but I think an even better experience could be had if there were less lines, more space to move etc. It was too bad Stan Lee couldn't make it but those things happen. But don't get me wrong, it was a very good time and I hope to return.
