My friends energize me! I wouldn't say family life is ever hum-drum but
sometimes when the kids and the hubby are all accounted for, there's
nothing better than inviting some friends over for a little scrapbooking or
Bible study or to talk about a favorite book we've all been reading. That all being said ... there's nothing as beastly or as
intrinsically rewarding as a few hill repeats!
Arianne is correct. When I feel run down from work my solution is the gym. A
1-hour workout of running and lifting and stretching does it. Seems opposite but
it's the only thing that works for me. The payoff is the beautiful
mountians we live by. The gym work out leads to the mountains eventually -- a
climb to the top of Timpanogos or other tall peaks in the High Uinta's.
Someone once said about mountain climbing "I am here not only to evade for a
while the clamor and filth and confusion of the cultural apparatus but also to
confront, immediately and directly if it's possible, the bare bones of
existence, the elemental and fundamental, the bedrock which sustains us."
